Amber is a fossilised treesap that is 100% polymerised. In contrast to younger copal (naturally or artificially hardened sap) the authentic amber went through a natural chemical petrification process that mostly lasted millions of years. Generally is can be said that plantsaps older than 1 million years are probable to be polymerised and can be called Amber. There are over 100 different classified Ambers in the world, usually in commercial terms they are named after their locality (Baltic Amber, Sumatra Amber, Mexican (Chiapas) Amber, etc.) but scientifically they run under names such as Succinite or Glessite. Elsewise Amber can also categorised by  unique color, for example Blue Amber which can be found in only few locations as Dominican Republic and Sumatra
