One exciting, rare and exotic Saffordite Cintamani stone, 20 - 30 carat specimen. Often called Arizona Tektite or Saffordite tektite, these unusual stones are part of a family of rare natural glasses called Pseudotektites which includes; Arizonaites (Saffordites), Colombianites, Healdsburgites and Amerikanites.
Pseudotektites have also been marketed as Cintamani Stone, the Pearl of Fire and Agni Manitite which, according to some, have powerful metaphysical properties.
The surface of Saffordites are usually pitted with cup-shaped depressions and are effectively indiscernible in appearance from true Tektites. Saffordites will look very dark until exposed to a back light. When lit, Saffordites transmit a smoky lavender color, sometimes with darker banding.
Each authentic Saffordite ships in a reusable protective display case.
